It's bad enough this ranger has dents from a tree falling on it shortly before I bought it.......(at least the PO replaced the windshield), but to add insult to injury.....there is this hardened stuff spattered on mostly the hood and roof that I'm assuming is tree sap and it's all hardened and dried on there.

Was thinking of using goo-gone on it. Any other suggestions?

Mineral spirits will remove old hardened sap and doesn't hurt the finish. WD40 also works pretty well, and both also remove tar in case you have some of that on it.

WD-40 worked a little bit, but wasn't really cutting it. I switched to kerosene and that is getting a lot of it off, but I have a long way to go as it's spattered all over the hood and roof.

Claybar! Zack Beard used it on Bills truck once.. it took ALL the trash off the paint. I thought he even buffed it out but he didnt, it was just the claybar stuff.
